Ian Steenbhom 
At the age of 16 Ian started work on the Rottnest Ferries which later became Rottnest Passenger Service of which Ian was a founding share holder. Later this became Boat Torque Cruises, which for many years was the bench mark for the operators world wide with its innovative approach to vessel design, introduction of high speed vessels, streamlining high speed propulsion systems. As a "working director" of the company for many years Ian took on the responsibility of controlling the engineering of the fleet and all areas of afloat operation (for many years also skippering the various company vessels). This operation of a fleet of over 12 vessels on a seven day service has given Ian a very extensive insight into the industry and also experience and knowledge which can only be gained with the combination of years of 'hands on' experience. Ian Steenbhom also played a vital role in the conception and operation of the ship building yard Wavemaster International in 1984. Which was established as a Boat Torque Cruises building yard. Wavemaster International quickly established itself as builders of world class vessels for filling contracts to clients worldwide. Many of these vessels were first for the industry being fastest catamarans, first ride control systems, quad engine water jets and many other concepts which are now the norm for the industry. Much of this success can be directly related to the builder/operator experience of the yard.
In 1994 a new building yard called Fast Craft International was founded and established with Ian as the Managing Director and Stuart Baldock as a Director. Various ferries, charter vessels and fishing vessels, up to 30 metres, were constructed for Australian and Overseas clients, including the White Dolphin I and White Dolphin II series.
